February 3 – Books and Breakfast: I Am Not Your Negro

When: Saturday, February 3, 2018, 10am – 12pm

Where: MLKCC, 40 West 40th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208

To compose his stunning documentary film I Am Not Your Negro, acclaimed filmmaker Raoul Peck mined James Baldwin’s published and unpublished work, selecting passages from his books, essays, letters, notes, and interviews that are every bit as incisive and pertinent now as they have ever been to weave together the book that Baldwin never wrote. This gem of literature juxtaposes Baldwin’s private words with his public statements, in a blazing examination of the tragic history of race in America.

You can access the book through your local library (if available) or by purchasing the text. If you are unable to access a copy of the book, excerpts will be made available soon.
