Diana is a student at Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. She volunteers at multiple local churches including Shepherd, Iglesia de Dios Pentecostes, and Calvario, tutors elementary school students, works as a physical trainer at Arsenal Tech, and is on the IU Advisory Board- a program to help make medical decisions for high school students. She is currently a member of the National Honor Society.
Project Idea: Diana is motivated by her mother who is a single parent to a family of five. Her mother, a former nurse in Belize, is an inspiration towards Diana’s passion for the medical field. Her mother’s stories of the challenges for orphans with no homes or food in Honduras inspires her to work for the betterment of orphans all over the world. Diana intends to work in a way that shows others they are never alone in any situation and there is always someone there to help. She believes in uplifting her community and ensuring everyone has their basic needs met such as clean water, food, and a roof over their heads.
